After hearing so many times that outsourcing is a must if you want to grow your online business I can gladly report that I have my first full time employee working for me now.

On the 16th July my first employee started working on writing articles and content for my future websites.

She has been working very hard and doing some great work. Researching the niche market that I selected and producing some good content.

This has also made sure that I keep working on this project and staying at least one step ahead of her.

No longer can I do nothing for a while (because I am too busy on other things) as I have to keep her busy. I will be able to “do nothing for a while” when I have multiple employees and many websites generating a good income for me. But for now I have to stay focused and work on growing the business.

I am very happy with my employee and the results she is helping me achieve.

I was able to find her thanks to the great website ReplaceMyself by John Jonas.

John has been outsourcing to people in the Philippines for some time and has put together some excellent videos and instructions on how to find the right people, what to expect from them and how to treat them.

His site also includes many training videos to give to your employees to teach them various aspects of Internet Marketing, such as SEO, research techniques etc. These have been great as my employee now feels that she is learning new skills and developing a broader understanding of the whole internet marketing process.

Obviously this is great for me as she will be able to do more things for me so becomes even more valuable.

John Jonas explains why you should employee people from the Philippines over other countries and what to look for in an employee, which is very useful.

John recommended that you look for people who have good English writing skills first and foremost. You can teach them many of the other skills but it is hard to teach them good English if they haven’t already been educated in this.

I followed John’s instructional videos and I have been very lucky to find a person with a BA in Journalism with several years writing experience. I think I hit the jackpot first up.

I can really recommend you check out what John has to offer on his website and then start outsourcing.

It won’t be long before I start looking for my next employee.

Always have a plan……so you know when you are not following it.

It’s been a while since my last blog post.

I have been very busy.

Aren’t we all.

It’s good to be busy but you have to be busy on the right things if you want your business to grow.

My Software Development business has been keeping me too busy to achieve what I want to in my Internet Marketing business, but now I am back on track.

My plan to Stop Learning and Start Earning that I wrote about in my last post was good in theory.

Aren’t all plans?

Well, I have been learning again…….but it is all good, because it has taken me much closer to the Earning part of the plan.

You never really stop learning and that is one of the good things about life, but at least the Learning has not consumed all of my time like it used to and I have made great advances.

I joined the IM Mentor program by Adam Spiel and Jit Uppal in March and did learn more, but it also motivated me to take more action.

Then I signed up for the Consumer Wealth System (CWS) from Daniel Turner and Marc Lindsay.

Last year I studied their Outscourcing Methods and learnt a lot from that so I knew their products and information was great value and very easy to follow.

These 2 guys actually live only a few miles from me but I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting them yet.

Hopefully one day.

CWS is all about how to sell physical products online.

I have big plans for this and will talk more about this in another post.

After this I joined Adam Spiel and Dean Holland’s Turbo Traffic System to learn more about getting traffic to my websites.

Well worth it.

Now for the good news!

I have hired my first full time employee to help me actually achieve the goals that I have set myself.

A great move, because now I have someone to write the articles and web site content while I work more on the planning and direction of the business.

Also, having an employee means that you have to give them enough work to keep them busy so I am forced to stay focused, stick with the plan and work on the business more regularly than I have been. More on how I hired this person in a future blog.

This is my motto for this year.

After learning so much from Alex Jeffreys and reading lots of other material on Internet Marketing it is time to put this into practice and start earning some money.

Good in theory, but you never really stop learning and nor should you.

The point is to stop the information overload, stop reading every email that hits your inbox and apply what you have learnt so far.

It is very easy to procrastinate about really getting started and building a website with useful information.

But now is the time to get serious.

To help push myself into action I have joined another coaching program (I know…still learning). However this is a bit different to Alex Jeffreys coaching being more hands on and follow the leader.

The leader (in fact 2 leaders) are Adam Spiel and Jit Uppal. They are former students of Alex’s first coaching program back in 2008 and have become successful internet marketers as a result.

So they have made it and are now helping others make it too by showing them the process that they followed to make money online. This includes actually providing products to give away together with prebuilt squeeze pages, thank you and download pages. So not only are they showing us what to do but we are building our online business at the same time.

The theory is great but applying it can be the hard part and stops so many newbies from really getting started online. I did not want to be one of those that give up.

After week 1 our homework was to setup our first product online. Easy when they show you how and give you the product and marketing material. Job done.

It is a good feeling to get started.

In this short video Devon Brown makes a very good point about staying focused on one thing at a time rather than doing too many things at once and not doing any of those as well as you could.

Devon is talking about Internet Marketing and trying to be involved in multiple income streams before you get the first one working and running smoothly.

I think this is particularly relevant when you are a newbie Internet Marketer like I am.

You are trying to learn everything as fast as you can to start making money online in about 5 minutes.

It is so easy to jump from one great offer to another before actually applying what you have learned or working out how to use the product that you just bought.

Try and use your 3 month plan (that you should have written when you started out) and stick to it and stay focused on the activities that will take you to where you plan to be and develop just one income stream before starting another. Put all of you energy in to that and it will happen faster and then you have a blueprint to follow to do the next one.

As a student of Alex Jeffreys I have had the benefit of being guided through what I must do to become a successful internet marketer.

It is up to me to follow that path and stay focused. You have to do that too.

Article Marketing can be a very useful and important part of promoting your internet business.

It is another way of driving traffic to your website or blog.

This happens by writing informative and useful articles about topics related to your niche market.

Provide interesting and quality content that will help promote you as an authority on your topic and make the reader interested in what else you have to say (and offer).

Make sure there are some chunks of meat in your article. Articles have been likened to a bowl of soup – if it’s too watery people will not eat it no matter how hungry they are.

An article that is well written and thoughtfully put together and preferably timeless will work best.

Articles must not be sales oriented or they will not be accepted by the article directories.

You must be subtle about your approach, but don’t worry, you can use the resource box at the bottom of the article to provide information about yourself and include a link or URL to your website.

If the reader likes your article then hopefully they will click on your link to find out more.

How long should articles be?

Generally, articles between 700 and 800 words are optimal, but anywhere between 400 and 800 words is great. Articles of this size range look about right on web pages such as blog posts, as well.

Anything outside of these limits may seem to be too short or too long to publishers and may not then be accepted by some of directories.

Having said this, quality articles of up to 1500 words will probably be accepted by most article directories.

How often should you submit articles?

One of the most important aspects of article marketing is consistency. Submitting articles every month for an extended period of time is far more effective than submitting a few articles all at once and then stopping, or only doing so for a short time.

With consistency you increase the benefits you get from article marketing over time. This is no different than other forms of advertising that get better results over an extended campaign that condition the potential buyer to feeling comfortable with you (your products) as you build your credibility so they become to trust you.

So start writing some articles about your niche and submit them to the article directories to help build traffic to your site.

Of course, you can always outsource this if you don’t think your writing skills are up to scratch. But then again, you may surprise yourself.

I have just attended a training webinar by Rich Schefren.

Rich has trained, coached and mentored about 85% of today’s successful Internet Marketers.

After listening to him today it is easy to understand why.

He also re-inforced much of what we have learnt from Alex Jeffreys (one of Rich’s successful students).

Try to provide a product that will satisfy their need by focusing on their pain, problems or frustrations.
